Complexing effects
- EDTA only works in basic solutions with a pH > 7
- MPXA works in both acidic and basic solutions from pH 2-14
- With EDTA in solutions with a pH less than 7 – eg Mn sulphate, zinc sulphate, chelation effect will be much reduced
